Southeast Power Corporation awarded contract from MEAG Power.
Port Orange, Florida, October 11, 2014 – Power Corporation of America (PCA) today announced that Southeast Power Corporation a wholly owned subsidiary of PCA, was selected by Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG Power) for a reconductor construction upgrade project of approximately 13.1 miles of 230kV transmission line near Columbus, GA. The MEAG Power project “Fortson Substation to Talbot County #1 230kV” is to upgrade the transmission line to achieve 907 MVA. Southeast Power’s scope of work for the project includes the pre-construction services with right-of-way clearing, erosion and sediment control, installation of concrete foundations, construction of overhead transmission lines, and erection of transmission structures. Southeast Power began construction tasks for MEAG Power in late July 2014 and expects to complete the project in the spring of 2015.
